What Is Conservative Living?
God fearing, Patriotic, and Conventional Wisdom best describes conservative living. I believe all people should be treated with respect and dignity. Conventional wisdom is the baseline for living a good life because it reflects the “normal” condition or belief of most people.
Is Conventional Wisdom The Last Word?
No! Conventional wisdom is a starting point, the beginning of the thought process and the path to fair and equal treatment. A progressive society needs to take into consideration current wisdom and advancements to plot a path that is still fair and equal but up to date with modern thinking and knowledge. That doesn’t mean that the conventional thought is twisted to fit a narrative. It’s still truth and fairness, just modified.
I love my country and believe that the freedoms the citizens of The United States of America enjoy are envied by people around the world. I also believe if a person wants to live in America they should become legal citizens and pledge their allegiance to America. Our freedoms should not be used against us by Congress and Courts to impose restrictions on us while allowing non citizens the same or more rights than citizens. The definition of patriotism is the love of your country, not hatred.
God fearing means having a reverent and loving feeling towards God. It is a way of life that also commands respect for your fellow citizens. Treat people as you would like to be treated. Matthew 7:12NIV states this point clearly, “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets”. Most importantly , it means following and living The 10 Commandments.
What Will I Be Writing About?
I will be writing about things that effect our every day lives as American citizens. Keep in mind this is a personal blog and will reflect my personal opinions. My purpose is to bring you unfiltered thoughts about life, death, and everything in between. The political discourse of today will likely effect my choices. To be sure, there will be articles about the current trend to take away our rights as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Plus the blatant McCarthyism that is taking place today.
The U.S. Constitution And Our Obligations
When it seems like America is going off the deep end it helps to remember what the framers of the US Constitution said in the Preamble of the Constitution “We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
We need to use our voting power to guarantee these rights to our children and future generations. I will always urge you to vote in all elections and be persistent in letting elected officials know what it is that you expect from them. I urge you to listen carefully to politicians. Both words and elections have concequences.
